The Finishing Trades Institute of New England’s Vision
Finishing Trades Institute of New England (FTI-NE) is a school that serves the continuing learning needs of DC 35’s members and of its signatory contractors. FTI-NE delivers and coordinates high-quality, flexible, cost-effective training programs to the members of DC 35.
FTI-NE works in partnership with the government, the education system, and the finishing industry’s manufacturers, suppliers, and customers. Contractors are assured the best-trained workforce available with ongoing training that anticipates the needs of the industry.
Its learning philosophy emphasizes a hands-on approach with academic support and the integration of health and safety training into the development of technical skills. The focus is to develop workers for the industry who are multi-skilled within their respective trades, professional, and proud of the contributions they make to the community.
FTI-NE’s ultimate criterion of success is the graduation of highly-skilled, productive workers who are employed in the finishing trades industry and add value to their employers.
